Hello Kitty!

Wellllllll... I made it to Japan! The flight was long, but good and I'm feeling greatful for the layover here cause my legs are restless. I sat beside two Japanese ladies and right behind the under 20 team Canada rugby team.... Holla! (nice work jp). It's kinda funny how paranoid the Japanese are about germs... I guess they're still having PTSD from sars or something- half the plane were wearing doctor masks on their faces, we has to fill out a double sided form concerning our health, and then when we landed 3 Japanese medical dudes boarded the plane dressed in full on rubber gloves, eye goggles, face masks, and scrubs that were taped shut in the back!!!! Then they did checks on some random people and looked through meds before we could deplane. Once we finished that we had to go through another health quarantene before we could proceed to the departure gate.

On a side note- I have already been exposed to the "Japanese-style toilet" worth a google to check it out. I only looked though cause they had normal ones there too... I honestly will never understand why some prefer to squat into a hole when the western style (which was the stall I opted for) is right next door. It just seems like cruel and unusual punihment.

I'm really wishing I had some yen cents on me cause I'm sitting here looking at the massage chairs in the departure gate and my ass is yelling YES PLEASE!!

Anyway, I think that's all I have to say for now. I'm gonna go grab some authentic sushi before I have to get back on the plane and head to Manila. Excited to see you Regi!!!!!!! :)

Boarding the plane to Tokyo now!!!! :-) wish me luck!!

Well I'm pretty excited now I think. It's finally kicked in that in 9 hours I'll be in the land of sushi, peace signs and kareoke!! There is an entire rugby team on my flight too I've noticed so I may red to take advantage of the free boost in international flights rule and make some new friends. ;-) (jussst kiddin kris xo). I'm sitting in row 60A And I'm quite hopeful it is going to be a fabulous seat selction as Jen and I put a lot of thought into the strategic online check in last night. Hahaha. Soo.... Hopefully there is wifi in Tokyo so I can update again there and kill some time. Love all y'all. Xo

Bye Victoria!

Today I am leaving Victoria to head to Vancouver and spend some Q.T. with Jen Perih before I take-off from YVR tomorrow afternoon. I've gone through my backpack about 400 times making sure I have everything I need, and not too much I won't need. I'm pretty excited now, and looking forward to catching-up on some zzz's during the plane ride (here's to NOT riding in the middle seat for 20 hours). I'm bringing two paperback books with me- The Kite Runner, which I've been meaning to read FOREVER and never have, and Eat, Pray Love... because it's fabulous, and oh-so appropriate. I'm also going to muddle my way through a bunch classics I've downloaded on my iPod like Moby Dick, Count of Monte Cristo, Alice and Wonderland, the Wizzard of Oz, Huckelberry Fin, etc.... I've got one movie on my iPod that I know I can watch 15 million times in a row and still LOVE– Pop quiz for anyone who knows me well:

Q: Which movie...........................?

Answer to follow... Anyhoooo I'm pretty sure my mom has requested weekly updates about 23 times, so I'll try to keep up my blog while I'm away. For anyone who wants to e-mail me, I'm going to be using thebigpr@hotmail.com over there mainly I think. I'd love to keep in touch with everyone, and hear any updates you all have for me too! Anyhoooo, I have to get going cause I have a few things to get done before I head out. Hope everyone has a great summer, and I Love you all to infinity!!

Oh yah, one more thing...

A: Sex and the City the movie– extended cut. :-)

Well... I'm pretty much all packed and ready to go. Only 10 more days (12,950 minutes... or better yet, less than 777,000 seconds!!) I will be flying into Manila, Philippines and staying for a week until I head to Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday June 7th. I think i will head to Bali after that and so some surfing and sunning until I head back north to meet my travel-posse (see image on left- I'll be the one in the gold carriage).

I have talked to everyone I know who has been to SE Asia and so far everyone has only good things to say. I have had several warnings to bring ample toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and immodium... (after Kirsten Dales pointed out- "BRING MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU COULD EVER NEED..." fun). I have been working out a few days a week and I think I have perfected the squat position, which should come in handy when using the facilities, or lack thereof, in many countries I'll be visiting. Anyhoooo, I should really hit the sack, cause I have an early morning tomorrow. Make sure to sign up for my blog so that you can be notified whenever I update it. I think this will work better than Spamming everyone with travel stories via e-mail. NIGHT NIGHT!!
